CONCEPTUAL TECTONIC STUDY

The design intent behind this tectonic study was to combine elements of a precedent building (Peter Zumthor’s Zinc Mine Museum) and one of Nick Cave’s soundsuits. The elevated cube structure with thin wooden structures extruded at angles from the base and the roof is inspired by the headpiece of the soundsuit. By combining the languages of these two precedents, a new language is created to create an intriguing conceptual form and space.
